Take a good look at the color and brilliance of this Sapphire. The color is just about 10 out of 10. Bright pure cornflower blue. The setting was custom designed and made for the stone. The sapphire is circa 1930-1940 but the mounting handmade in the Peter Suchy Workshop 2013. Excellent condition. Sapphires can be altered in many ways to artificially enhance color and clarity. A gem lab certificate is necessary to determine if the stone has been treated and how. Almost all Sapphires are low level heated at the mine to stabilize the stone. This is called simple heat or TE1. The color is still considered natural. Roughly 98% of all Sapphire falls in this category. Natural no heat Sapphire is very rare and is all natural. High heat or diffusion treated Sapphire has been altered to different color enhancement.
